H is for Happy Anniversary!

Yes, it is that time of year again. Today we celebrate 27 ½ years of wedded bliss. Time sure does fly - it seems like only 10,044 days ago that we tied the knot.

So on this special day, we stumble down memory lane to recall November 25, 1978.

Ah, it was a beautiful Spring day like today (it snowed - this was North Syracuse, remember). We promptly arrived for the ceremony (the groom was late getting a replacement tie for the best man). We had a solemn ceremony (some people at the altar kept giggling). We had the finest of orchestras (the band could play polkas and Billy Joel). The setting was elegant (Wysocki's - best buffet around). The guests showed grace and decorum (who filled up our Ford Torino with rice?).

But seriously, we had the greatest time, and certainly the finest flower girl. Once, when Marsha heard The Wedding Song, it brought back memories of some marriage ceremony that she knew she had enjoyed very much. Finally, it came to her - it was ours. No one had a better time that day than the bride and groom. And that was just the beginning . . .

G is for Grumble Campers

Another great picture from Matt.

Of course, this picture raises many questions. Why are they grumbling? Where are they camping? What the hell are they saying, anyway?

The world may never know (at least, not until Matt gets his computer fixed).

The Garden Diaries (mid May)

The soil is tilled and the first plants are firmly in the ground. Tomatoes, peppers and squash from the garden shop; snap peas and sunflowers from seed; and the little eggplants waiting to be buried in the warm ground. Now we weed, and wait, and pray the bunnies don't eat too much.

Z is for ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzs

I am sure that Joe and Ambre are ready for some Zs after finishing up their first year at Rutgers. They made it through a grueling week of finals, packing, cleaning and moving, and I am sure they are ready for some well deserved rest. We are very proud of you both.

Here is a picture of them from a couple of weeks ago, right after Joe's glee club performance.

Have a wonderful summer - soon you will be heading back as a pair of sophisticated sophomores.

Y is for YummY (we hope)

This yummy is a work in progress, and it will be a while before we see the fruits of our labors. These are tiny little eggplant plants that I hope to plant in our garden soon.

We like our eggplant; be it in ratatouille, Parmesan, or our newest favorite, on a pizza? Let's hope these
seedlings grow up big and strong, and that the bunnies don't eat them.

I hope to have more pictures to share as they grow.
